Henri Herz

large product photo

The Henri Herz upright piano bears the name of the brilliant Austrian pianist and composer (1803 - 1888). Following an unsuccessful partnership in piano manufacturing with Klepfer in the 1840's, Henri undertook concert tours of the United States, Mexico and the West Indies  (1845-1851). Returning to Paris, where he was a professor of piano at the Paris Conservatoire from 1842 to 1874, he established a successful piano factory. His pianos won first prize in 1855 at the Paris Exhibition.
